Registering your New Product

Blog Post

Many customers are unaware that when you purchase and install a new furnace, air conditioner, and/or water heater, the product often includes a warranty.  Depending on the make and model of the unit, the warranty could be anywhere from 1 to 10 years. The homeowner is responsible for validating this warranty, although often the contractor does complete this step on your behalf.

There are only a few simple steps to have this complete::

1. Log on to the model’s website and select “register my unit”. Example: https://www.ruud.com/warranty

2. Have your SERIAL NUMBER and PRODUCT INFORMATION ready (this can be found on your invoice, or unit.)

3. First you will need to input your information, including your email (the certificate will be emailed to you, if you do not feel comfortable inputting this in, please feel free to use our company email and we will forward it to you on your behalf - tom@tmindustries.ca)

4. You will then be asked your INSTALLATION DATE as well as your contractors company information: Tom Martin TM Industries Inc West Montrose, Ontario 226-747-7772

5. Once completed you will receive a confirmation email as well as a certificate. You should save this email as well as print a hard copy to be filed with your unit information paperwork that is given to you at the time of work completion.

6. Many product websites also allow you to go to the beginning of this process and select “confirm my warranty has been validated” to ensure it has been properly issued. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at any time and we can assist you with this.

Although these warranties do not cover labour for repairs, these steps are very important to complete to ensure that your unit is covered for parts issues. We install and carry higher end heating and cooling options and we want to ensure that the homeowner is protecting their investment any way they can.
